Sarah Oswald

Sarah Oswald MA (Hons) PGDip AMA MAHI
Associate and Senior Interpretive Consultant

From August my working relationship with PLB will be changing. I will be stepping down as a director and moving to working part-time under my new business ‘The Authentic Spark'. As well as continuing my strategic heritage skills, my new venture will focus on personal and professional development for teams and individuals in the sector. I am excited to be both pursuing a deeply held passion and also to be able to continue to work as part of the PLB team in creative and innovative projects.

I am extremely proud of all that Jamie and I have accomplished together in PLB with the support of some amazing people. And that great relationship will continue, as together we see this new step as part of a positive and exciting future for us all.

Sarah is an experienced heritage professional who contributes her analytical and creative skills to PLB’s range of projects, from feasibility studies to exhibitions. She has a particular interest in access, audience development, community engagement and in the promotion of good interpretive practice. Sarah has delivered interpretive planning and scripting for many of PLB’s design projects. She also leads PLB’s multi-disciplinary consultancy teams in preparing development plans, options appraisals and scoping studies.

Prior to joining PLB, Sarah had practical experience in delivering a local authority heritage service, providing outreach and community development. She holds a City & Guilds Certificate in Delivering Adult Learning and has taught MA students at York and Chester and provides mentoring, training and facilitation in audience development and interpretation to a wide range of museums and heritage sites.

Sarah is an Associate of the Museums Association as well as a member (and former committee member) of both the Association for Heritage Interpretation and the Yorkshire & Humberside Federation of Museums and Galleries.
