Meet the Team: Nick Sellers

In our ‘Meet the Team’ series, we’re introducing you to the talented individuals who make up the creative collective of PLB.

Next up is Nick, our Creative Artworker. Fusing creativity with keen commercial awareness, Nick is our safe pair of hands with a sharp eye for detail. He ensures sure all artwork meets the required specifications and every print deadline is achieved.

We caught up with Susanne to ask her a few questions, and get to know her better.

1. What inspired you to work in the heritage and museum sector?

The ability to use my creative processes in every project that we work on. I find inspiration in turning simple ideas into compelling graphics that tell a story or bring a venue to life!

2. What do you love most about PLB?

The variation in projects. No two jobs are ever the same. There’s always a new challenge!

3. Can you share a behind-the-scenes moment from a recent project that made you proud?

I particularly enjoy working on local projects. Places that I used to visit as a child with friends and family and now knowing I have contributed to some of these amazing places being even better.

4. If you could work on any heritage site or museum in the world, which one would it be and why?

The Great Wall of China. If I did I would buy a ‘Wuhan’ way ticket!

5. What’s a common misconception about what you do?

That it only takes 5mins.

6. What advice would you give to someone looking to get into exhibition and interpretation design?

Be adaptable. You will need many skills and a can-do attitude.

7. Describe your job in three emojis!

😅💭👀

8. What’s one object, artefact, or display that has left a lasting impression on you?

A poignant sight at Bamburgh Castle, the wreckage of a Spitfire. A powerful reminder of history and sacrifice.

9. If PLB had a company mascot, what would it be and why?

An Owl. Owls generally symbolise wisdom, knowledge, intuition and insight! … Plus working at PLB is always a hoot!

Stay tuned for more team insights and a closer look at the people who make PLB what it is!
